It is important to remind someone how much they mean to you and why, especially after a disruption in the relationship, due to infidelity or a breach of trust in some other way. Trust is crucial to relationships; breaking it can be hurtful and often emotionally devastating.

Saying you’re “sorry” can be especially powerful in a song. It can help someone feel they are appreciated and hopefully restore some semblance of normalcy. It can also help listeners in similar situations feel less alone as they ponder their own situations.

Songs help us to walk in the shoes of the artist/writer and experience their deepest, most vulnerable life lessons. And “apology” songs in particular can resonate deeply with someone experiencing their pain.
