Music with Meaning
"After all these years, I realized I had never written a song for my wife, Nargues (aka, Jackie). In truth, she also reminded me of this oversight. My bad; she deserves one! So, out of the pooch house and onto the piano!
With her birthday coming up, I figured, what an appropriate gift—for all the times she has helped me through tough times and saved me from… myself. The title, “You Bring Out the Best,” made perfect sense. Thank you!
Thanks also to Marty Rifkin, for his extraordinary musicianship in helping bring this song to life, and to Rick Riso, for his amazing voice and some great input on the mix. (“Hey, fellas, what happened to my background vocals?!”).
In addition to Marty’s full track, Nargues also wanted a second version, with just Rick singing and me on piano, the way she had heard it initially.” (Both are included for play here, and you will get both when you buy the single.)

LYRIC
When I’m lost you shine a light
When I’m troubled you make things right
When I’m stumbling you take my hand
When I’m seeing gloomy skies
You help me see through different eyes
When I’m falling down you help me stand
You bring out the best in me
The hero deep inside
When life’s always testing me
You’re right there by my side
You bring out the best in me
Like nobody can
You bring out the best and just
Make me a better man
When I feel like saying good-bye
You make me want to stay and try
To be in your arms instead of on my own
When I don’t really care no more
You remind me what I’m livin’ for
And even more that I’m not alone
REPEAT CHORUS
You are always behind me hmm every day
Always there to remind me in each and every way
How to stand and spread my wings
No matter what tomorrow brings
REPEAT CHORUS
