A BEAUTIFUL LIGHT

A Beautiful Light COVER.png

Inspiration can come from many places, from a person you love, revere, or who simply sparks your imagination. This song represents a combination of catalysts: first, someone whose allure caught my attention; next, an icon of the Silver Screen, Audrey Hepburn, whom my wife and I both adore; and finally, the deceased wife of a dear friend and eventual honoree, who embodied all the qualities expressed and deserves having a light shined on her.

“A Beautiful Light” seemed like the perfect title. “Light” is a powerful image for me. It can illuminate a moment, bring brightness to one’s life, or reflect a shining example of someone you value and cherish.

Thanks to Marty, my amazing producer, and to Rick Riso, in between “gigs” in his “second career” in real estate (he’ll always be a crooner first). Rick has closed more “musical escrows” for me than I can shake a baton at, and I am grateful for his lovely voice and beautiful soul.

LYRIC

She could light up a room with her smile

And her irresistible style

She could bring out the best in the people that she met

She could make you feel loved without knowing your name

And you’d never be the same

With grace and a face you could never forget

What a beautiful light

A beautiful light

So strong yet so gentle shining on me

But her radiant light

Shines far out of sight

For everyone to see

A star shining bright

What a beautiful light

She could brighten a day that was dark

And her charm could awaken a spark

She could warm up the coldest hour with her heart

She could soothe you with words or no words at all

And her love could pierce a wall

She gave people hope to find a new start

CHORUS

A beautiful light

That felt so right

The feelings that would never end

Her joy of living

Was the joy of giving

Such a beautiful friend
